Each character is created by the artist by combination of two Chinese characters which represent the Solar term.
Each Chinese character is a collection of radical (偏旁) which carry meaning on their own. The artist create these pieces by following this rule and create 24 new Chinese character and each of them represent one of the 24 Solar Terms.
